Hyperhidrosis treatment

When sweating becomes excessive

The human body has over 4 million sweat glands responsible for producing sweat — a clear liquid that helps regulate body temperature. Normally triggered by heat, exercise, or emotions like stress and nervousness, sweating is a vital natural function.

However, in some people with hyperhidrosis, sweat production is abnormally high. It can occur even without obvious triggers, such as in cool weather or at rest, becoming a real daily discomfort.

botulinum toxin (Botox)

Live fully, free from the discomfort of sweating

Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, is a medical condition that often affects the armpits, palms, feet, or face. Although fairly common, it is seldom discussed, yet it can significantly impact quality of life. Fortunately, effective treatments are available.

  • Benefits of the treatment

Hyperhidrosis treatment effectively reduces excessive sweating, improves daily comfort, and boosts self-confidence. It targets the affected areas safely and personally for lasting results.

Types of hyperhidrosis

The two forms of hyperhidrosis

A medical evaluation is essential to identify the type of hyperhidrosis and determine the most suitable treatment.

  • Primary (focal) hyperhidrosis

Linked to a dysfunction of the sympathetic nervous system, it locally affects certain areas such as the hands, armpits, feet, and face.

  • Secondary (generalized) hyperhidrosis

It affects the entire body and may be caused by an underlying factor (e.g., medications, menopause, hormonal or neurological disorders).

Botulinum toxin

A targeted approach to reduce excessive sweating

Botulinum toxin injections work by blocking the nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands. The result: a significant reduction in sweating in targeted areas, without affecting other bodily functions. This non-surgical treatment is safe, effective, and temporary.

Treatment Procedure

The session lasts approximately 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated. After disinfecting the skin, the physician performs small injections at regular intervals in the targeted areas. The treatment is minimally painful (similar to mild insect bites) and does not require anesthesia.

You can return to your activities immediately afterward. Effects begin to appear in the days following the treatment, with an optimal result between 4 to 6 months, varying from person to person.
